Ray Carlisle, vocalist and guitarist for Teenage Bottlerocket, was kind enough to answer a few questions for us. He talked about the upcoming album that consists of a compilation of covers from bands “you’ve probably never heard before”. A project that has been in the works for quite a while now and something that seems odd for a Teenage Bottlerocket album, but really intriguing nonetheless.
This album will also mark the return of TBR to Fat Wreck Chords, a record label that is very notorious for going beyond the professionalism and creating an ongoing friendship with every single member of all the bands in the label.
One thing that is definitely going to stand out in the band’s return to Fat Wreck, is having a new drummer. Ray admits that Darren, Teenage Bottlerocket’s new drummer, definitely sets a different pace for the band. TBR’s frontman also remembers the time when his late twin brother, Brandon, wrote a song for label mates The Bombpops, which they included in their latest album.
Lastly, Ray talks about what’s ahead for Teenage Bottlerocket and looking forward on touring overseas. He actually spilled the beans on playing a very notorious punk-rock festival in the States. We had to cut that part out but don’t worry, that’ll be revealed very soon!
So, "shut up and get rad" and watch the interview below!
